Women's Moneyball

Moneyball is back at The Lab!

Choose your partner and sign up by December 4 to be one of 6 teams competing.

This event is best for 4.5 and 5.0 players, and your team's combined DUPR cannot exceed 10.0.

Format

6 teams. Two pools of 3 teams each.

Round 1: Pool play

• Two matches

• One game to 21, rally scoring, win by 2, win on your serve

• Switch ends at 11

• No timeouts

Playoffs

• Seeded bracket based on pool play (#1 seeds have a bye and go straight to semis)

• One game to 21, rally scoring, win by 2, win on your serve

• Switch ends at 11

• No timeouts

Semifinals

• Winner of each playoff match plays #1 seed

• 1 game to 15, sideout scoring, win by 2 

• Switch ends at 8

• 1 timeout for 1 minute

Final

• Winners play in final

• Best of 3 games to 11, sideout scoring

• 1 timeout/game for 1 minute

Cost: $25/person ($50/team)

Payout: $100/person ($200 for winning team)

A few other details:

• Warmup: You can show up starting at 9:30am. We'll start games promptly at 10:05am

• Ball: Vulcan

• DUPR: Games will not be entered into DUPR

• Recordings: Matches will be recorded via a video system that is set up at The Lab. Recordings will be shared after the event.
